Molasses Spice Cookies

These molasses spice cookies are a fall favorite—the kind of baking that fills the kitchen with the warm scent of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cardamom. With their sugar coating and rich molasses flavor, they’re just right for a cool afternoon with a cup of coffee or tea.

They’re also a favorite of my Aunt Mary Anna’s. My cousin, Brenda messaged me yesterday asking for the recipe so she could make a batch for a family friend. That was the perfect excuse to give it a home on the new website, where we can all find it when the fall baking mood strikes!

  • 1 stick butter (½ cup)
  • ½ cup sugar, plus additional sugar for rolling

  • 1 teaspoon cardamom
  • 2 teaspoons ginger
