A Name Under the Moon
Sometimes the best ideas don’t arrive after months of searching.
Sometimes they simply click.
When I decided it was time to create an imprint for my books, I knew I wanted something rooted in New Mexico but broad enough to grow with every story I hope to write.
I explored several possibilities before two words came together.
Manzano Moon Press.
The more I thought about it, the more it felt right.
The Manzano Mountains have watched over New Mexico for generations. The moon has watched over storytellers for even longer. Together they capture something I’ve always tried to bring to my writing: a sense of place, quiet moments, resilience, and hope.
A little research followed.
The name was available.
The domain was available.
The business name was available.
The trademark search came back clean.
So I did what I usually do when something feels right.
I bought the domain.
manzanomoonpress.com
Anywhere But Here will always be my first published novel.
The Space Between Songs will become the first book released under Manzano Moon Press.
For me, this isn’t just a publishing imprint.
It’s a home for every story still waiting to be written—whether that’s contemporary fiction, Westerns, New Mexico history, photography, educational books, or maybe even the steampunk fantasy that’s been quietly living in the back of my imagination.
Every journey begins somewhere.
Today, this one found its name.
